Discrimination protections for smokers

Smoking tobacco cigarettes used to be commonplace and virtually everyone did it. It's still perfectly legal to smoke cigarettes, provided you're smoking in an area where the activity is permitted. Defining the Employee Retirement Income Security Act

The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), which was passed in 1974, protects employees who are voluntarily enrolled in health and pension plans within private industry. The ERISA is a federal law and it sets forth minimum standards for protecting these employees.
